Maintenance Planner (NOC 0714) - Job Description
The Role: Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for managing the planning function and providing direction to the Maintenance department in the efficient scheduling of repairs and maintenance activities to ensure a productive workforce with minimal downtime while maintaining a safe working environment. The position is also responsible for order planning, budgeting, and working closely with the buyer to manage purchases. LanguageEducation- Completion of college program in electrical or control and automation engineering or in another discipline related to building maintenance or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in building maintenance.
- Completion of a certified programing project management
- CMRP designation is preferred
Experience- 3-5yearsofexperienceworkinginaMaintenancedepartmentorrelevant role
- 2+yearsofexperienceinComputerizedMaintenanceManagementSystem (CMMS)
- 1-2yearsutilizingreliabilitytools,suchasRCA,FMA,DMAIC, 5S,FMEA,ECM,andTPM

- Fulfilling all health and safety, CFIA, HACCP, and BRC audit requirements; ensuring documents associated are accurate and up to date
- Developing, adjusting and implementing asset maintenance strategy based on RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance)
- Overseeing maintenance work; assigning tasks and evaluating completion by inspecting and reporting any issues to Supervisors to communicate to teams and escalating to Maintenance Manager where applicable
- Hiring,training,mentoring and managing coop student(s)
- ParticipatinginbiweeklydowntimemeetingsbetweenOperationsandMaintenanceteams, facilitating program changes required to decrease downtime
- Ensuring equipment certification calibration schedule is in compliance
- Preparing budget, including providing cost estimates for the project and monitoring costs against budget
- ManagingprojectinvoicecostscomparedtoCapexprojectsandcomparingscopeofwork actual and expected
- Adjusting work methods and procedures to meet production schedules using knowledge and capacity of machines, equipment, and personnel
- Inspectingsitesandbuildingstoscopeandplannewandongoingmaintenancework
- Liaising with plant stakeholders, responding to all work orders, and determining priority and feasibility of requests
- Handling all incoming maintenance deliveries, including matching purchase orders and quantities, parts discrepancies, and distribution of orders
- Identifying,evaluatingandimplementingideastoimprovereliabilityprocessesandsystem performanceusingreliabilitiestools,suchasRootCauseAnalysis,FailureMode&Effects Analysis, DMAIC, 5S, FMEA, and Total Productive Maintenance
- Performing data analysis to monitor KPIs and identify trends on MTBF, failure rate, reliability,downtime,numberofreactiveWOs,preventiveandpredictivetasksusingExcel pivot tables and Power BI
Coordinating and making sure of the alignment of Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, and HACCP projects to ensure that all activities are carried out in the expected time, scope, and cost Manage CMMS (Micromain)- Reviewingdailyandweekendworkordersreviewingandbacklogorpendingorders
- Providing monthly reports on downtime and status on time of submittal of work orders to time of completion (work order compliance)
- Analyzingandidentifyingtrendsusingdowntimeinformationtoplanexecutionofpreventive maintenance program
- Working with Inventory Coordinator to endure spare parts lists are up to date for current and new machinery and are stocked
- MaintainingMicromainworkorders;includinginputofnewrequests,assigning,and closing out of completed work orders
- Assistingwithoptimizingworkschedulesasplannedandinstructedbymaintenance supervisors
